The Story Behind Quest’s End Whiskey
Quest’s End Whiskey is a project combining two of my favorite hobbies: reviewing whiskey and playing D&D.
The project was created last year and features Matthew Lillard as part of the team behind this whiskey series.
I was lucky enough to meet Matthew Lillard at a convention in my area recently and he was such a nice guy.
We talked about my love of the Five Nights at Freddy’s Video Games and how he played the villainous Springtrap so well in the movie.
He shared some of the ideas behind Quest’s End Whiskey and I kept my eye out for and was able to order for its limited release.
So when I got this box in the mail and got to see all of the cool packaging and story behind each bottle (Character) it was a lot of fun to experience and will most certainly make its way into a D&D campaign of mine in the future.

Quest’s End Whiskey – Rogue Tasting Notes
Appearance: Dark Caramel
Nose: Sweet Caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, buttery brown sugar, hints of cinnamon, light fruits, caramel apple
Palate: Rich caramel sweetness, toasted oak, vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, reminds me of cinnamon sugar toast, light fruits, apple, apricot, notes of rye spice
Finish: Medium finish that leaves you with a nice sweet and savory balance and decent mouthfeel
Is Quest’s End Rogue an Approachable Whiskey?
Quest’s End Rogue Whiskey is quite approachable.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a D&D focused project, but the whiskey is quite tasty!
It’s full of sweet caramel, sugars, cinnamon, vanilla, and toasted oak which is a great balance for introducing many to whiskey.
This is a bottle I could bring to any D&D session and I feel like everyone could appreciate its flavors.
Is Quest’s End Rogue Complex?
Quest’s End Rogue Whiskey has nice level of complexity and depth of flavor.
I expected it to be a light whiskey without much body to it, but it has quite a few nice layers of flavors.
It starts with your typical bourbon flavors of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak.
But it goes deeper than that.
While it does have those rich flavors, it also adds a layer of additional brown sugar sweetness, light fruit flavors, and hints of rye spice spice that linger on the tail end of each sip.
Also, the finish is much better than I expected and really makes you want to drink more.
What are Quest’s End Rogue’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Quest’s End Rogue Whiskey’s strongest attribute is that it is created to blend two of my favorite hobbies: Whiskey and D&D.
Everything about this project is based around creating a deep level of story and lore behind every bottle.
If you’ve ever played a D&D character, you know how cool and fun this can be.
So for this to be brought into a bottle of whiskey that is designed to create the same mystique and lore about a bottle of whiskey, I am a fan.
Is Quest’s End Rogue a go-to whiskey?
Quest’s End Rogue Whiskey is a whiskey that will most certainly be saved for special occasions only.
The bottle is quite pricey and it is more a pour for friends during a D&D campaign where you stumble into a tavern after a brutal battle and your characters are on the brink of disaster.
The barkeep reaches behind the bar and says, “I have exactly what you need!” as he pulls out a magical elixir he purchased from a Rogue he met on his travels years ago…
Is Quest’s End Rogue priced accurately to its quality?
Many may argue that you could likely get a bottle of whiskey of this quality for $60-80 and while you certainly can, you will not be able to have an experience like Quest’s End brings with this bottle.
I’ve been an avid collector of video games, collector’s editions, D&D books, and more so this is a series I will likely purchase every release.
Conclusion for Quest’s End Rogue
If you’re a fan of D&D and love whiskey, this is a cool bottle to have in the collection.
Not going to lie, the whiskey is much more delicious than I expected so I’m going to have to be careful to only drink this one when I’m playing D&D.
If you bring this to your next D&D session, it is sure to be a hit.
