Is Peerless Bourbon an Approachable Whiskey?

Peerless Bourbon is a little hot and spicy but has very nice flavors.

While this bourbon may be a little strong for beginners, experienced bourbon drinkers will likely appreciate the classic bourbon flavors in this one.

Is Peerless Bourbon Whiskey Complex?

Peerless Bourbon is pretty straightforward and delivers exactly what you would want from a traditional bourbon whiskey.

It starts with your sweet caramel, vanilla, and oak notes from being aged in the barrel for 4 years.

Then you get a layer of flavor that is a bit more spice and heat.

It’s a mix of rye spice, cinnamon, and baking spice but it also has a nice amount of the barrel’s oaky tannic spice that kick the whiskey up a notch.

What are Peerless Bourbon Whiskey’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Peerless Bourbon’s strongest attribute would be that it is about as classic as bourbon can get.

With over 100 years of history, Peerless Distillery just returned and is back making the classic bourbon they were known for.

I recently made a trip to Kentucky with my dad for my birthday and we met the owner of Peerless Distillery and enjoyed a few tastings.

You can read all about our Peerless Distillery Tour and Tastings.

The history of Peerless is quite fascinating and they make one of my favorite rye whiskeys ever – Peerless Rye.

Is Peerless Bourbon a go-to whiskey?

Peerless Bourbon is a little bit pricey to be a go-to bourbon for me, but the flavors I could easily drink all the time.

I also cannot find Peerless Bourbon here in Pennsylvania, so the only time I can get it is when I visit Ohio.

If I could buy it more regularly, this would certainly be a bottle I would have on my shelves at all times.

Is Peerless Bourbon Whiskey priced accurately to its quality?

Peerless Bourbon does deliver on its price tag, but it’s a little too pricey for me to buy all the time.

I reserve this one for special occasions or to share with friends.

Conclusion for Peerless Bourbon Whiskey

Peerless Bourbon is a classic bourbon that delivers all the quintessential bourbon flavors you could expect.

They’ve rejuvenated their 100-year-old distillery and are making a huge comeback into the market with this bourbon and even more so with their Peerless Rye Whiskey.

I also picked up a bottle of Peerless Absinthe Finish which was extremely unique and the only whiskey I’ve ever seen finished in Absinthe barrels.

I love that Peerless is releasing solid traditional whiskeys but also experimenting and taking their whiskey to the next level.

Peerless also does an excellent job of releasing single-barrel bottles that are exceptional.

If you see some Peerless Bourbon or Rye Whiskey on the shelf, pick up a bottle and let us know what you think.
