Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger has quite a bit of kick to it.

I wouldn’t recommend this one for beginners.

Is Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger Complex?

Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger has quite a few layers of complexity to it.

It starts out with a nose that deceives you into thinking you will be tasting a sweet caramel, lightly toasted oak, and vanilla whiskey with a bit of apple pie fruit and cinnamon spice.

But when you take your first sip, you will experience a big and bold kick of rye spice and pepper.

If you’re a fan of rye spice, you will really enjoy this whiskey.

I personally do enjoy the kick of flavor and it’s refreshing to see a whiskey deliver big and bold flavors even though it will add some heat to the pour.

What are Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger’s strongest attribute is definitely its high-rye forward flavor profile.

With each sip, you are met with a blast of flavor that really wakes up every last one of your taste buds.

Is Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger a go-to whiskey?

Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger is a bit heavy to be a go-to whiskey.

While the price is right, this is a whiskey that I will be reserving for cold winter days where I really need a hot bourbon that’s gonna give me a nice warm Kentucky hug.

Is Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger priced accurately to its quality?

Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger delivers on its price tag if you’re a fan of high-rye bourbon.

Conclusion for Smoke Wagon Uncut The Younger

This pour is pretty unique.

I’ve had a lot of high-rye bourbons that I have enjoyed, but this one takes things a step further.

The amount of rye spice and pepper I get on each sip is really enjoyable.

With that being said, this is a whiskey that may blow out many people’s taste buds.

The flavors are so big and bold full of rye spice that I could see people being taken aback if you’re not used to cask strength and non-chill filtered whiskeys.

I personally love the heavy, oily mouthfeel of a non-chill filtered whiskey so this bottle is right up my alley.

If you like big, heavy whiskeys full of rye spice, this one is a bottle for you.

And at the price point of $50, it offers a very unique flavor profile that does beat many of its competitors in the high-rye bourbon arena.

It kind of reminds me of the bold flavors I find in New Riff Single Barrel Rye which is one of my favorite rye whiskeys.

I also just reviewed the Smoke Wagon Small Batch Straight Bourbon Whiskey which I had a similar experience with.

They’re both about the same price and between the two, I’d say it’s up to preference whether you want the big heavy hitter with the Uncut The Younger or the slightly lighter experience with the Small Batch.
