Appearance: Dark Golden Honey
Nose: Campfire smoke, light peat, smoked meats, barbeque charcoal, caramel, vanilla, oak, light fruits, clove
Palate: Smooth balance of peat and smoke, buttery caramel, oak, vanilla, candied apricot, apple, citrus zest, oaky pepper spice
Finish: Excellent finish with a nice oily and buttery mouthfeel – leaves you with charred oak, pepper spice, and fruit notes on the finish
Is Laphroaig Triple Wood an Approachable Whisky?
Laphroaig Triple Wood is an extremely easy whisky to drink.
It’s smooth, flavorful, and has a lovely finish.
Is Laphroaig Triple Wood Complex?
Laphroaig Triple Wood has a few layers of depth and complexity.
It starts with the usual medicinal peat and smoke flavors that we know and love from Laphroaig.
Behind that initial layer, you get some nice oak, vanilla, and caramel flavors from the ex-Bourbon Barrels and they help add oaky peppery spice notes.
The finish is non-chill filtered and leaves you with a nice oily mouthfeel that is quite enjoyable.
What are Laphroaig Triple Wood’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Laphroaig Triple Wood’s strongest attribute is the smoothness of its peat, smoke, and woody flavors.
It is extremely smooth and easy to drink with a nice peaty flavor profile that isn’t overpowering.
Is Laphroaig Triple Wood a go-to whisky?
Laphroaig Triple Wood could easily be a go-to whisky.
I don’t see this one on my shelf anymore (might be discontinued) but I would absolutely buy another bottle if I see it again.
It is one of the smoother offerings from Laphroaig and is on par with my favorite which is Laphroaig Lore.
Is Laphroaig Triple Wood priced accurately to its quality?
Laphroaig Triple Wood is extremely delicious and delivers on its price tag.
While a little more expensive than the standard Laphroaig 10 Year, this bottle is absolutely worth the extra money.

Laphroaig Triple Wood is extremely smooth and delicious.
Aside from Laphroaig Lore and some of the more limited-release bottles like Laphroaig Cairdeas, this is definitely a favorite of mine.
If you see a bottle of Laphroaig Triple Wood on the shelf, definitely pick it up.
