Nose: Strong Peat, lots of smoke, salty, ocean…many often refer to its scent as taking a whiff of a campfire doused in ocean water…

Palate: Peat, Peat, and Peat. The smokey, peaty flavor of Laphroaig is what brings you back to it time and time again. It also has a salty, ocean water flavor to it paired with a slight sweetness that comes through on the finish.

Is Laphroaig 10-Year Approachable?

Laphroaig in general is not the most approachable whiskey to a beginner. However, it’s often an excellent choice for a person just learning whiskey to experience. I have found that people either love it or they hate it.

It’s the type of Scotch that you give to a friend and if they love it, you know will be good friends.

Is Laphroaig 10-Year Complex?

Laphroaig 10-Year Scotch is not incredibly complex. It brings one dimension and that is smoke and peaty deliciousness. There are plenty of hints of salty ocean seaweed and sweet notes of light fruit, but for the most part, we all come to Laphroaig for the peat.

How Does Laphroaig 10-Year Smell?

Peat and Smoke. Laphroaig 10-Year is a Scotch whiskey that when you open the bottle around friends, they’ll all immediately turn to you and ask what you just opened. It’s incredibly strong odor will fill a room and if you enjoy the smell, it’ll make you want to enjoy a glass by a campfire or sit by your fireplace on a cold winter evening.

What are Laphroaig 10-Year’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Peat. Laphroaig brings you peat in one of the best ways possible. Once you taste it, you will know the flavor forever.

Is Laphroaig 10-Year a go-to whiskey?

Laphroaig 10-Year is definitely a go-to whiskey for me. I never tire of it and I could sip on it for multiple glasses without tiring of it.

Is Laphroaig 10-Year priced accurately to its quality?

At the $60-70 price point, it’s a reasonably priced bottle of Scotch and is easily worth the quality experience that it offers. If you haven’t gotten yourself a bottle of Laphroaig 10-Year, go out to the store and buy yourself a bottle. It’s readily available everywhere and for good reason.
