Highland Park Cask Strength Review - Secret Whiskey Society - Back of Box Story Description

Is Highland Park Cask Strength an Approachable Whisky?

Highland Park Cask Strength is a big and bold heavy hitter.

At 128.2 Proof, this pour will knock your taste buds around and they will love you for it.

However, this is not a whiskey for beginners.

Is Highland Park Cask Strength Complex?

Highland Park Cask Strength is a very complex whiskey.

To start, the nose is heavy but full of caramel, vanilla, oak, cinnamon, dark fruits, and spices like anise seed and allspice.

When you take your first sip though, you’re hit with massive amounts of smoke and peaty notes which I really enjoy.

It’s then followed up by a bit of dark fruit – cherry, plum, and anise seeds mixed with oak which is exactly what I love about whisky finished in Sherry Oak casks.

It then finishes out with a lovely mouthfeel that is both oily and buttery. It coats your entire mouth with flavor and hits you with a real punch.

What are Highland Park Cask Strength’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Highland Park Cask Strength has two major attributes – peaty smoke and a high ABV cask strength mouthfeel. If you’re a fan of these like I am, you will love this pour.

Is Highland Park Cask Strength a go-to whisky?

Highland Park Cask Strength is a special occasion whisky. With the high ABV along with big and bold flavors, this is a bottle that I’d likely only pull out to share with friends or on a nice camping trip.

Is Highland Park Cask Strength priced accurately to its quality?

I think Highland Park Cask Strength delivers on its price tag. The flavors and power you get from this bottle are very unique and enjoyable. I am glad I purchased this bottle and decided to review it.

Conclusion for Highland Park Cask Strength

Highland Park Cask Strength is a real powerhouse.

The best part about it is that while it is big and bold on the ABV, it also brings the bold smokey and peaty flavors you love from a Scotch paired with dark fruit, citrus notes, and oak that finishes out with a beautiful oily, buttery mouthfeel.
