The Story Behind This Bottle of Creek Water Whiskey
This bottle of Creek Water Whiskey was a gift from my friend Bob.
I’ve known Bob since I was in highschool. We were on the same wrestling team together, went to college at Penn State University together, and he bought me this bottle as an inside joke that I’m about to share with you now.
In college, I had a friend named Mikey who always drank a drink called “Crick Water”.
We were college students, so he was always trying to save money. One day, he discovered a Rum named Bacardi 151.
This alcohol was brutal. Extremely powerful and you would taste it with every fiber of your body as you tried to choke it down.
My friend Mikey decided that he would mix this Bacardi 151 with water and it wouldn’t be so strong.
He drank this “cocktail” often before we went out on the weekends.
My other friend Brian branded this cocktail “Crick Water” because he thought it tasted as if he just scooped some water out of his local Crick and chugged it down.
The name for the beverage stuck and Mikey drank the cocktail every weekend during our freshman year.
I’ll give it to him that it was by far the cheapest option to get drunk on a small budget but damn did it taste foul.
So when my friend Bob found this bottle in North Carolina, he purchased it and gave it to me as a gift and we both had a nice laugh as we reminisced about our college days.
Every time I take a pour from this bottle, I always think about one of my best friends Mikey in college sipping on his Bacardi 151 and Water aka The Crick Water.
