Is Chicken Cock Bourbon an Approachable Whiskey?

Chicken Cock Bourbon is a very nice pour. It’s very smooth and leaves you with very little burn on the finish. This is an excellent bourbon for both beginners and experienced whiskey drinkers.

Is Chicken Cock Bourbon Complex?

Chicken Cock Bourbon offers quite a few layers of flavor. It doesn’t have a bold caramel flavor like you see in many other bourbons. Instead, you get a lighter version of sweetness more similar to toffee or butterscotch.

After that, you get a nice transition to more buttery flavors similar to brown sugar, vanilla, and light fruit notes like orange and apple. It almost reminds me of a warm caramel apple like you’d get at a carnival or amusement park.

It finishes with a smooth and easy finish with just a tiny bit of pepper that lingers nicely.

What are Chicken Cock Bourbon’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Chicken Cock Bourbon is extremely smooth and easy to drink. This is a bottle I think almost any whiskey fan would enjoy and quickly back to for another pour.

Is Chicken Cock Bourbon a go-to whisky?

Chicken Cock Bourbon is quite delicious. I could easily see this bottle being a daily sipper if it were a little bit cheaper. It has a wide range of flavors that I really enjoy and they are balanced very well with very little heat.

Is Chicken Cock Bourbon priced accurately to its quality?

Chicken Cock Bourbon delivers on its price tag. Even though $60 can be a little pricey, this bottle is worth the cost of entry.

Conclusion for Chicken Cock Bourbon

Chicken Cock Bourbon is a whiskey that I first had on my first trip to Kentucky for the bourbon trail. I remember ordering it from a recommendation at a small bar we visited in Bardstown and I’m really glad that I did.

Since we will never see Chicken Cock Bourbon here in Pennsylvania when I saw it on a visit to Ohio I had to pick myself up a bottle. And it did not disappoint.

I like the smooth light flavors of this one and definitely recommend picking it up if you see it on the shelf.
