Is Yellow Spot an Approachable Whiskey?
Yellow Spot packs quite a punch.
It is full of flavor with a long heavy mouthfeel that wakes up all of your taste buds for 60+ seconds.
This is a whiskey experience whiskey drinkers will enjoy but might be a bit much for beginners.
Is Yellow Spot Complex?
Yellow Spot Irish Whiskey is quite complex and offers a ton of depth and flavor.
The nose is full of sweet caramel and toffee notes, fruits like apple, apricot, and peach, and even dark fruits like black cherry, plum, and anise seed.
The palate is full of rich oaky tannic spices, malt grain flavors, and rich buttery brown sugar and caramel sweetness.
What are Yellow Spot’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Yellow Spot Irish Whiskey’s strongest attribute is its finish.
This pour has an absolutely spectacular finish that is full of flavor and leaves you with a rich buttery mouthfeel that lasts an incredibly long time.
Is Yellow Spot a go-to whiskey?
Yellow Spot is an excellent whiskey, but I reserve this one for special occasions.
It has so much flavor and such a strong finish that I like to save this one for nights when I’m in the mood for a special treat or when I have friends over and want to introduce them to Irish Whiskey.
Is Yellow Spot priced accurately to its quality?
Yellow Spot is a pricey bottle coming in at $125.
While I do think this bottle delivers on its price tag, it is one that I only drink on special occasions or with friends who will truly appreciate the pour.
Conclusion for Yellow Spot
Yellow Spot is a huge step up from the cheaper Green Spot Irish Whiskey and I think the extra money is worth it.
I would rather spend an extra $50 to get the rich flavors and spectacular finish Yellow Spot has to offer.
If you see this bottle on the shelf and you are a fan of heavy non-chill filtered finishes, I’d definitely pick this one up.
