Is Nikka Coffey Grain an Approachable Whisky?
Nikka Coffey Grain whisky has quite a bite to it.
It doesn’t necessarily burn, but it has a peppery spice to it that really wakes up your taste buds.
Is Nikka Coffey Grain Complex?
Nikka Coffee Grain isn’t too complex.
Since it is 95% Corn, it has qualities similar to a bourbon which means you get a lot of vanilla, caramel, and charred oak flavors.
The finish is a bit spicy and is something I’m not particularly fond of.
What are Nikka Coffey Grain’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Nikka Coffee Grain’s strongest attribute is that it’s a Japanese Whisky.
I think since it is Japanese, it stands out on a shelf, and with the Coffee Grain label, it piques interest.
Is Nikka Coffey Grain a go-to whisky?
Nikka Coffee Grain isn’t a whisky I could sip on regularly.
It has a bit too much spice and pepper for me and there are American bourbons that I prefer at cheaper prices like New Riff Single Barrel Bourbon and Bib and Tucker 6 Year.
Is Nikka Coffey Grain priced accurately to its quality?
Nikka Coffey Grain is a bit overpriced for what it delivers.
I would be more likely to recommend this bottle if it were in the $40 price range.
Conclusion for Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky
Nikka Coffee Grain Whisky is a Japanese Whisky that stands out on the shelf because we just don’t get many Japanese whiskeys here in Pennsylvania.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t a huge fan of this bottle.
I’d be curious to try the Nikka Coffee Malt to see whether that is better since it is 100% Malted Barley.
I am guessing I will prefer that one over this.
