The Dom Cocktail Recipe
A very well balanced cocktail. Spicy and bold, yet sweet with a long vanilla finish.
Equipment
- Mixing Glass or Tin
- Jigger
- Bar Spoon
- Strainer
- Coupe Glass
- Ice
Ingredients
- 2 Oz Rye Whiskey I like New Riff Rye
- 1 Oz Benedictine DOM
- ½ Oz Vanilla Simple Syrup Recipe in notes.
- 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
- 1 Luxardo Cherry for Garnish
Instructions
- Add ice and water to coupe.
- In a tin full of ice, add the rye, benedictine, vanilla simple syrup, and Angostura bitters.
- Stir until chilled.
- Discard ice and water from coupe.
- Strain into coupe and garnish with 1 Luxardo cherry.
Notes
Vanilla Simple Syrup Recipe:
1 Inch of vanilla bean pod sliced lengthwise.
1/2 Cup demerara sugar
1/4 Cup water
Add the ingredients into a pot and heat while stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool until the syrup is room temperature. Using a cheesecloth or fine strainer, strain into bottle and refrigerate. Enjoy.
