Is Templeton Rye an Approachable Whiskey?

Templeton Rye is an extremely approachable whiskey.

It drinks with very little burn and goes down very smoothly.

This would be an excellent whiskey to offer to beginner whiskey drinkers.

Is Templeton Rye Complex?

Templeton Rye has a few layers of flavors, but none of them really stand out. It does offer some base flavors I enjoy in a rye whiskey though.

It starts with a bit of an earthy, grassy flavor but then turns over into a sweeter sugar cookie and baking spice.

If finishes off with a bit of pepper and spice with a very light finish that would be perfect for people who are new to tasting whiskeys.

What are Templeton Rye’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Templeton Rye’s strongest attribute is how easy it is to drink. It’s incredibly smooth and would be easy to drink a full glass of.

Is Templeton Rye a go-to whiskey?

Templeton Rye could easily be a go-to whiskey. It’s fairly affordable and could be a daily sipper for someone who doesn’t like a lot of heat on their whiskey.

I will also add a note that I always have a bottle of Templeton Rye on my shelf because it is one of my favorite go-to whiskeys when I make an old-fashioned cocktail.

In particular, one of my favorite variations on an old-fashioned is called a Becherovka Old Fashioned. My Becherovka Old Fashioned Cocktail Recipe uses Templeton Rye Whiskey and Becherovka Russian Liqueur and it is absolutely delicious.

Is Templeton Rye priced accurately to its quality?

Templeton Rye could be a little cheaper, but I still think it’s a decent buy for its price tag.

As I said, I always have a bottle of this on my shelf.

Conclusion for Templeton Rye

Templeton Rye is an extremely easy to drink whiskey and I would definitely recommend you pick a bottle of this up to give it a try.

If you’re a fan of old-fashioned cocktails, I would most certainly buy this one.
