Is Templeton Rye 10 Year an Approachable Whiskey?
Templeton Rye 10 Year expands on its younger brother the Templeton Rye 4 Year.
While this pour is quite easy to drink, it does pack a bit of heat (in a good way). So if you’re looking for a beginner whiskey, I’d go with the Templeton 4 Year, but experienced whiskey drinkers will certainly appreciate the 10 year much more.
Is Templeton Rye 10 Year Complex?
Templeton Rye 10 Year does have a few layers of flavors to it.
It starts with a lovely rich caramel and butterscotch, vanilla, and toasted oak. It then leaves you with nice earthy notes full of white pepper and rye spice.
What are Templeton Rye 10 Year’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Templeton Rye 10 Year’s strongest attribute is its balance between caramel, vanilla, and oak mixed with pepper and rye spices.
Is Templeton Rye 10 Year a go-to whiskey?
At the price point for this bottle, I would not consider it a go-to whiskey. This is a bottle I would pull out on special occasions where I am looking for a little extra kick.
Is Templeton Rye 10 Year priced accurately to its quality?
I think Templeton Rye 10 Year is priced a bit high for what it offers.
While I do really enjoy the whiskey, I think if it were priced at the $60 price point I would buy it more often.
Conclusion for Templeton Rye 10 Year
I really enjoyed this pour from my Templeton Rye 10 year bottle. It has a lot of lovely flavors and right off the bat you’re going to get a beautiful blend of sweet rich caramel, oak, and vanilla that warrants the purchase of an American rye whiskey aged for 10 years.
