Is Starlight Bourbon an Approachable Whiskey?
Starlight Bourbon is a whiskey that anyone can drink, but may not be blown away by.
It has a bit more of the corn sugar flavor than I expected, but it is fairly easy to drink.
Is Starlight Bourbon Complex?
Starlight Bourbon has a few layers of flavor, but none of them really blow me away.
I get the first layer of sweetness that is a mix of caramel, toffee, and corn sugar flavors but it’s not what I would normally expect from a bourbon.
The malt and wheat grains really shine through so that may be what I’m noticing here on the palate.
It does have some nice spice notes that come through.
What are Starlight Bourbon’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Starlight Bourbon’s strongest attributes are that it combines quite a few flavors that you wouldn’t normally expect in a bourbon – somewhat to its detriment as a bourbon but as a strength as a whiskey overall.
Is Starlight Bourbon a go-to whiskey?
Starlight Bourbon is a little pricey to be a go-to whiskey for me.
I’ve heard they have very good finished whiskeys that everyone loves, so I’ll have to give those a try in the future.
Is Starlight Bourbon priced accurately to its quality?
I think I would enjoy Starlight Bourbon a little more if it were in the $30-35 price range.
Conclusion for Starlight Bourbon
Starlight Bourbon didn’t have enough to really sell me on the bottle, but I know a ton of people who really love their whiskeys.
I’m going to have to find some of their finished whiskeys and see if I prefer those a bit more.
Unfortunately, I can’t find Starlight Distllery whiskeys here in Pennsylvania, so I’ll have to wait until I’m back in Ohio or Kentucky to see if I can find another bottle of theirs to sample.
