Is Sagamore Spirit Rye an Approachable Whiskey?
Sagamore Spirit Rye is a pretty approachable whiskey. It’s easy to drink, doesn’t have much heat to it and offers some nice rye spice flavors.
Is Sagamore Spirit Rye Complex?
Sagamore Spirit Rye offers a few layers of flavors and has a pretty standard rye flavor profile. While none of the flavors really stand out on their own, the blend of rye spice, citrus, earthy clove, and oak notes create a pretty layered flavor profile.
What are Sagamore Spirit Rye’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Sagamore Spirit Rye’s strongest attribute is its spicy rye flavors. Since half of the mash bill is a 95% Rye blend, the rye really shines through.
Is Sagamore Spirit Rye a go-to whiskey?
Sagamore Spirit Rye is easy to drink, has a nice array of flavors, and has a decent price point. I could see this being a go-to whiskey for rye drinkers. While it would not be a go-to for me since I have other favorite rye whiskeys like New Riff Single Barrel Rye and Templeton Rye, it would be a solid choice for a daily sipper or a cocktail Rye.
Is Sagamore Spirit Rye priced accurately to its quality?
At the $40 price point, I think Sagamore Spirit Rye delivers. I’d buy it a little more often if it were a $30 bottle, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you buy this one.
Conclusion for Sagamore Spirit Rye
Sagamore Spirit Rye is a decent choice if you’re looking for a standard rye whiskey. It has all the rye spices and pepper flavors that I’d expect from a rye whiskey and surprisingly doesn’t have a ton of heat on it which makes it quite easy to drink.
