Is Penelope Architect Build 9 an Approachable Whiskey?
Penelope Architect Build 9 is a pretty approachable whiskey.
It doesn’t skew too far in any direction but offers some nice traditional bourbon flavors and qualities like toasted oak, caramel/brown sugar, lots of vanilla on the nose, and a decent finish.
I think this is a bourbon that everyone can enjoy.
Is Penelope Architect Build 9 Complex?
Penelope Architect Build 9 isn’t quite as complex as some of the previous batches, but it does still stay true to what the others offered: traditional bourbon flavors with a bit of extra rye spice.
This pour is very easy to drink and the flavors mix well together to give you a satisfying experience that you can easily drink a few glasses of.
What are Penelope Architect Build 9’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Penelope Architect Build 9’s strongest attribute is that it is a great bottle to pick up if you are a fan of traditional bourbon flavors or want to give your friends a nice pour that aren’t all that aware of bourbon flavors.
Is Penelope Architect Build 9 a go-to whiskey?
The Penelope Architect series is released once or twice per year.
Since it is a relatively limited release, this is a bottle I don’t drink through right away.
I like to compare each build versus the previous builds to see what steps they’re taking and the flavors they work with in each bottle.
Is Penelope Architect Build 9 priced accurately to its quality?
Penelope Architect Build 9 does deliver on its $60 price tag, but I wouldn’t pay much more than that.
I think they found the right price point on this bottle and they make it fun to collect each batch and sample alongside each other.
Conclusion for Penelope Architect Build 9
I enjoyed Penelope Architect each time it is released, but my favorite Penelope bottles are still the Penelope Toasted Series (both Bourbon and Rye).
They are pretty well available at all stores and they have a lovely toasted flavor note that stacks very well on top of the normal Penelope flavor profile.
Also, Penelope released many more rare bottles like the Penelope Rose Cask Finish and many others.
I am a fan of how Penelope is producing and marketing their whiskey.
Their prices are reasonable for the most part unless you are searching for extremely limited releases like Penelope Rio and Penelope Valencia.
If you see a bottle of Penelope Architect Build 9 on the shelf, pick it up and give it a taste.
It’s a solid bourbon.
