Nose: Sweet honey, butterscotch, dark fruits, plum, fig, raisin, vanilla, citrus zest, chocolate, cacao, spices, light oak
Palate: Rich dark fruits, sweet honey, chocolate and cacao, light oak, cinnamon spice, pepper
Finish: Warm comforting finish that leaves you with nice cacao, dark fruit, honey, and oak with a lingering pepper and cinnamon spice

Macallan whisky maker Polly Logan journeyed to Girona, Spain to immerse herself in the world of chocolate. While there, she explored the chocolate-making process and uncovered the distinctive flavour profiles at Casa Cacao.
Polly partnered with Jordi Roca who is the owner of the three-star Michelin-rated restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, as well as Casa Cacao. She also spent time with master chocolatier of Casa Cacao, Damien Allsop.
What are Macallan Harmony Collection – Rich Cacao’s strongest attributes/flavors?
This bottle really hits you with dark fruits blended with a nice honey sweetness rounded out by a nice hint of cacao chocolate.
Is Macallan Harmony Collection – Rich Cacao Complex?
This Macallan Rich Cacao has many layers of flavors.
Right off the bat, it hits you with rich honey and lovely dark fruits.
Then you start to get a little bit of oak blended with the rich cacao and cinnamon spice as claimed.
It has a nice oily finish that leaves plenty of flavor lingering on your taste buds as lingers with some pepper spice.
Is Macallan Harmony Collection – Rich Cacao Worth Its Price Tag?
This bottle of Macallan is one of the best and most well-rounded bottles of Macallan I have had.
While it has a bit of spice and pepper on the tail end, overall it is very sweet and full of vibrant fruit flavors.
As for whether it’s worth its price tag, I’m a bit torn.
The prices of Scotch Whisky have been increasing so much and I feel like this bottle is a prime example of this.
Just a few months ago, I purchased the Macallan Harmony Collection – Intense Arabica and it was $30 cheaper at $150.
While I do think this bottle is better than the Intense Arabica edition, it is hard to justify paying nearly $200.
With that being said, I do think the depth of flavor and quality in this bottle does do the price justice.
How does Macallan Harmony Collection – Rich Cacao stack up against other Macallan bottles?
This is probably the best bottle of Macallan I have ever had.
I really love the rich fruits, sweet honey, and chocolate cacao notes in each sip.
Is Macallan Harmony Collection – Rich Cacao Worth The Extra Money?
If you’re a fan of Macallan, I do think this bottle is worth the money.
It’s a significant step up from your standard Macallan bottle which would normally run you $80-100.
If you’re in the mood for a real treat, I would say to treat yourself and pick this bottle up if you see it at MSRP prices.
And keep in mind, these bottles are limited releases so they’ll likely be $500+ on secondary down the road and you don’t want to miss out on this one.
