Is Liberty Pole Wheated Bourbon an Approachable Whiskey?
Liberty Pole Wheated Bourbon is extremely easy to drink.
It’s very smooth with little heat and leaves you with nice sweet and flavorful notes on each sip.
Is Liberty Pole Wheated Bourbon Whiskey Complex?
Liberty Pole Wheated Bourbon is aged for less than 2 years, so I can only imagine how good it will be if they can reach 4-year of aging in barrels on this one.
Even with the light age statement, this whiskey really delivers in flavor.
It starts with a nice cereal grain note that really reminds me of sugary sweet Frosted Flakes cereal and Brown Sugar Cream of Wheat (when you make it with milk).
The grain carries through and then turns into a honey and light caramel sweetness followed by light fruits and a bit of citrus.
On the finish, it is extremely smooth and leaves you with a nice balance of sweetness but also offers a lingering spice and pepper paired with hay and pleasant grassy notes.

Liberty Pole Wheated Bourbon’s strongest attribute is how smooth a pour it is.
This whiskey just goes down extremely smoothly and still delivers a nice flavor profile the whole way through.

Liberty Pole Wheated Bourbon could easily be a go-to whiskey.
It’s easy to drink and is a perfect whiskey to sip on a cool spring evening when you’re looking to kick back and relax with a nice easy pour.
Is Liberty Pole Wheated Bourbon priced accurately to its quality?
Liberty Pole just recently expanded to a new bourbon campus and rick house to hold its barrels so I’m looking forward to tasting how their whiskey will progress over the years and can’t wait to try this one at a 4-year age statement.
Regardless, this bottle does deliver on its price tag and I am happy to support a Pennsylvania distillery that is just 30 minutes up the road from me.
*Update: Liberty Pole released a Single Barrel Wheated Bourbon that is aged 3 years and 7 months and it is quite spectacular.
Conclusion for Liberty Pole Wheated Bourbon
Liberty Pole is a distillery I have been following for the past few years and their whiskey continues to grow in both flavor and in popularity.
I have a feeling we’ll be seeing some lovely whiskeys coming from them over the next few years and I cannot wait to see what they start producing as they are able to age their whiskey for more time.
Of Liberty Pole’s standard bottles, this is my favorite of their whiskeys.
I did get a chance to taste the High Rye Bourbon and I missed out on purchasing a bottle of that to review, but I will be sure to keep an eye out for their special releases to get some more Liberty Pole Reviews up for you.
