Distillery: Lagavulin
Region: Islay, Scotland
Bottling: 11 Year Offerman Edition Guinness Cask
ABV: 46% or 92 Proof
Price: ~ $80
Appearance: Straw, light gold, polished brass tuba, thin legs.
Nose: Damp and foggy campsite on a crisp fall morning, moss, and a lightly salted smoke.
Palate: Bright and briny, rain saturated ashes in last weekends fire pit, nice rewarding finish.
Final Assessment: This is a great whisky. It drinks easy, and is slightly less intense than his 16 year old brother. If you’re interested in trying a peated islay scotch, at least consider this bottle. I don’t often drink peated scotch, but when I do, I drink Lagavulin. I will give this pour an honest 83 / 100.
