Finish: Medium finish that leaves you with an oily mouthfeel full of spice, pepper, caramel, and toasted oak with a big of peat and smoke

This bottle of Johnnie Walker Game of Thrones edition has a nice smooth flavor profile that I really enjoy.

I reviewed the Johnnie Walker Song of Ice Edition side by side with this one and you can definitely tell the difference.

Is Johnnie Walker Game of Thrones – Song of Fire Complex?

Johnnie Walker Song of Fire Edition does have a few layers of complexity to it.

The nose is sweet with caramel, vanilla, and oak but also a bit of spice, pepper, smoke, and peat

On the palate, you definitely get a bit of the Caol Ila peat and smoke shining through. While subtle, it adds a nice layer to the whisky.

What are Johnnie Walker Game of Thrones – Song of Fire’s strongest attributes/flavors?

The fact that this bottle came out to promote Game of Thrones at the peak of its glory was a really cool element of this bottle.

The show was so popular that you could find it everywhere and to walk into the liquor store and be able to pick up a bottle to drink alongside the show is just a cool idea.

Is Johnnie Walker Game of Thrones – Song of Fire a go-to whiskey?

Since this is a limited edition bottle, it’s pretty hard to find now and while it’s a smooth and easy pour, I’ll likely save this one for special occasions.

Is Johnnie Walker Game of Thrones – Song of Fire priced accurately to its quality?

At the $50 price point, this Johnnie Walker Game of Thrones Edition bottle delivered on its price tag.

It has a nice level of flavor and to have the cool artwork and hype around the Game of Thrones show, it is just a cool purchase.

Comparing the two Johnnie Walker Game of Thrones edition whiskeys, I have to say that the Song of Fire edition wins for me hands down.

I love the spicy, peat flavors in this bottle and if you can only buy one, I recommend picking this one up.
