Since it is a single-barrel selection, it has a bit higher proof than your standard Jim Beam bottle, and beginners to whiskey will certainly notice it.
Is Jim Beam Single Barrel Complex?
Jim Beam Single Barrel has a few layers of flavor.
It has all the traditional flavors you would expect from an American bourbon.
Caramel, charred oak, vanilla, and the classic Jim Beam nutty flavor notes.
The finish lasts quite a while and really lets you notice the non-chill filtering.
What are Jim Beam Single Barrel’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Jim Beam Single Barrel’s strongest attribute is that it offers traditional bourbon flavors directly from a single barrel which is about as American bourbon as you can get.
Is Jim Beam Single Barrel a go-to whiskey?
Jim Beam Single Barrel is a bit stronger than your normal bourbon and is a bit hotter than I would normally drink as my daily sipper.
This bottle is for when you really need a nice kick in taste buds after a rough day at work.
Is Jim Beam Single Barrel priced accurately to its quality?
Jim Beam Single Barrel delivers on its price tag.
While I prefer the standard Jim Beam bottles or Jim Beam Black to this one, it does offer a nice single-barrel flavor experience.
Conclusion for Jim Beam Single Barrel
I’m always a fan of Jim Beam whiskey and I like most of their products.
They always have the standard American bourbon flavors but with a nutty flavor layered on top.
I was lucky enough to enjoy a tasting with Fred and Freddie Noe (Creators of Bookers and Little Book) when I visited the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
They went over a ton of details on how they test their whiskeys, and how they always try to innovate, and we tasted some of their new products like Clermont Steep American Single Malt.
My favorite whiskey from the whole trip though was Jim Beam Lineage which is one of the most complex and flavorful bourbons I have ever tasted.
All around, you can’t go wrong with Jim Beam products and there is a reason they are now the number one whiskey distributor in the entire world.
If you get a chance to try the single barrel, it’s worth buying yourself a bottle.
