The nice box set for this bottle comes with a fancy outer box that looks really nice on a shelf. It includes the bottle and a small commemorative book sharing the story of Frank Sinatra and how he enjoyed his Jack Daniel’s over the years.
I would consider this bottle a collector’s edition of a classic whiskey distillery.
Is Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select an Approachable Whiskey?
Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select is extremely smooth and easy to drink.
It’s full of rich flavors that are mellowed by the charcoal mellowing process iconic of Jack Daniel’s whiskey.
Is Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select Complex?
Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select has a few layers of complexity.
It starts with your usual sweet caramel, vanilla, banana, and toasted oak that you’d get with all your Jack Daniel’s whiskeys.
This bottle follows a similar process to Gentleman Jack. The difference is that the barrel staves on this one have ridges cut into them to create additional surface area for the whiskey to contact the wood.
This is supposed to give a little bit of extra caramel and oak flavors.
What are Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select is extremely smooth. It goes down so easily and has absolutely no heat on it but still has all the flavor.
Is Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select a go-to whiskey?
If this bottle weren’t limited release and didn’t cost $175 it would absolutely be a go-to whiskey.
I’m a big fan of Jack Daniel’s already, but this bottle really puts it over the top that their whiskeys are some of the smoothest out there.
Is Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select priced accurately to its quality?
The Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select is a bit pricey for what you get.
While it is better than Jack Daniel’s Gentleman Jack, it is not $135 better.
If this bottle cost $80, I would probably buy it again. But at the $175 price tag, this is a one-time purchase to have it on my shelf for special occasions.
Conclusion for Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select
I recently just visited the Jack Daniel’s Distillery and tasted this for the first time.
The distillery tour was nice and they took us on a walking tour through the facility and shared some of the history of the distillery.
We got to have a tasting that included Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7, Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select, Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Bourbon, and Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye.
I was excited to purchase a bottle of this as well as the “Tennessee Tasters”, but neither was available to buy when I went to the gift shop.
The woman who worked there said they were still on a massive backorder since the glass production was delayed during COVID and after.
This is understandable and they have to provide the stores with the product before they can sell it at their distillery, so I just bought a bottle of Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Rye since it is not yet available in my state of Pennsylvania.
So as I was driving home from the distillery to our Air BnB, my Dad and I stopped at a random gas station and next door was a dark store with just a single sign that said “Liquor”.
We stopped in and lo-and-behold they had a bottle of Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select!
I was pretty excited to get this bottle and be able to review it for you, so I paid $20 over retail and was just excited to be bringing it home with me to spend a little time with rather than a tiny pour at the distillery.
All in all, this is one of the smoothest whiskey pours you will find… but so is Jack Daniel’s Gentleman Jack.
If you’re the type who loves to try new whiskeys and you are a big fan of Jack Daniel’s I would recommend finding a bottle of this.
For everyone else, you can just spend the $40 on a bottle of Gentleman Jack or better yet, buy the Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Bourbon at $65 which is by far the best Jack Daniel’s bottle and a steal at that price.
