Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve Tasting Notes
Nose: Molasses, Sweet, Light Fruit – Oranges and Banana, Hints of Vanilla
Palate: Toffee and molasses with a light hint of orange, banana, and vanilla notes
Finish: Not much flavor or length to the finish. What few flavors I got on the palate quickly dissipate.
Is Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve Approachable?
While Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve doesn’t have much heat or bite to it, I don’t see it having flavors that will really stand out to beginner whisky drinkers.
Is Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve Complex?
Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve is not complex at all. It doesn’t have many flavors to start with and even the ones that it does have a very one-dimensional.
What are Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve’s strongest attributes/flavors?
The strongest attribute of Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve would be its sweet flavor. If you’re looking for a Scotch to use in cocktails without blowing your budget on higher-end Glenlivet options, this could be an option for you.
Is Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve a go-to whisky?
Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve would not be a go-to whisky for me. Even at the lower price point, other Scotch options offer much more complexity and flavor than this one.
Is Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve priced accurately to its quality?
Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve is actually priced a bit higher than its quality. While $50 is one of the cheaper options for a bottle from the Glenlivet lineup, it’s the lowest quality option of them all. I would highly recommend spending the extra $10-15 to bump up to the Glenlivet 14-year or Glenlivet 15-year instead of this one.
