Finish: Long finish with a nice oily mouthfeel that leaves you with sweet caramel, balanced oak, and nice nutty and dark fruit flavors
Where I Got This Bottle of Glenfiddich 18 Year
This bottle was a gift to me from my good friend Jeff for being a groomsman in his wedding.
It was a great gift and I’m really glad to review this whisky for all of you to give you my honest feedback on the bottle.
So with that, let’s get into the review.
Is Glenfiddich 18 an Approachable Whisky?
Glenfiddich 18 is an extremely approachable whisky.
Granted, it has a $180 price tag for the bottle, but this is a Scotch whisky everyone will enjoy.
Is Glenfiddich 18 Complex?
Glenfiddich 18 has a lot of layers of flavor that really blend well together.
The nose is full of rich caramel and charred oak which is followed up by a ton of dark fruits and citrus zest.
The palate is full of many of those same flavors but also includes a nice oak spice, almond, and nutty flavors.
The finish is full and rich and offers a nice mouthfeel that is extremely enjoyable.
What are Glenfiddich 18’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Glenfiddich 18’s strongest attribute is that it offers such a deep level of complex flavors that it’s a pour you’ll really spend some time diving into the flavors that you are enjoying.
Is Glenfiddich 18 a go-to whisky?
Glenfiddich 18 would easily be a go-to whisky for me if it didn’t cost nearly $200.
The flavors in this one are so smooth and it’s extremely easy to drink.
However, at the price point, this is a bottle I reserve for special occasions and to share with friends.
Is Glenfiddich 18 priced accurately to its quality?
Glenfiddich 18 does deliver on its price tag, but only if you’re looking for a special occasion bottle.
This bottle was a gift to me from my friend Jeff for being a groomsman in his wedding.
I typically reserve this bottle for pours when I’m with my old friends and for times when we’re thinking back on his wedding and other special occasions.
Conclusion for Glenfiddich 18
Glenfiddich 18 is a real treat.
It has a depth of flavor that is on par with its competitors like Glenlivet, Balvenie, and Oban.
If you’ve got the money to spend, this bottle is quite delicious.
If you don’t want to spend the $180, you can always purchase the Glenfiddich 15 which is also quite delicious and costs half the price.
