Conclusion for Four Roses Small Batch

Four Roses is one of my favorite brands of bourbon.

They are always available on the shelves and at great prices.

I have visited the Four Roses distillery a few times and each time I go, I learn more and more about them and why I enjoy their whiskey.

An interesting thing that I learned this last time is that Four Roses has 10 different recipes for their whiskey.

They have two mash bills and 5 proprietary yeast strains that when combined can make up 10 different recipes.

When you buy a bottle of Four Roses Small Batch bourbon, you are getting a combination of barrels from either the E mash bill or the B mash bill.

They combined the barrels with all 5 yeast strains and the product you get in the bottle is a balanced blend of them all.

The reason they keep the 10 distinct recipes is that over the years, they have bought and acquired yeast strains from multiple brands and they decided to keep this variety which shines through in their whiskey.

Most distilleries just stick with one mash bill but with Four Roses, you get a lovely array of flavors that excite your taste buds each time you pour yourself a glass.
