Is Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey an Approachable Whiskey?

Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey is a pretty simple whiskey.

It has a bit of heat to it so it may not be a whiskey for beginners.

Is Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey Complex?

Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey isn’t particularly complex.

It has your sweet honey, toffee, and fruit notes from Irish Whiskey, but the malt and spice flavors overpower most of it which makes it taste more like an American Single malt than an Irish Whiskey.

What are Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey’s strongest attribute is that it is backed by the 69th Regiment’s Historical Trust and $1 of every bottle sold to the Sixty-Ninth Regiment Historical Trust which is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) foundation.

From their chief marketing officer Scott Reid:

From the brand’s introduction in 2019, an underlying mission of Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey has been the recognition of and support for the active duty, reserve, national guard, and veterans of the United States armed forces.  The whiskey is produced in conjunction with the 69th Infantry Regiment Historical Trust and a portion of the sale of each bottle sold benefits the trust as well as philanthropic activities on behalf of the Regiment’s veterans and families.

Is Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey a go-to whiskey?

The Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey is a blend of Irish Whiskey and American Single malt.

It’s a decent pour if you are a fan of American single malt and has a unique flavor profile from finishing in many different types of casks.

Is Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey priced accurately to its quality?

Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey is priced just slightly above what it delivers.

With a portion of profits going to charity, that helps, but I would be more satisfied with this bottle if it were a $20-25 bottle.

Conclusion for Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey

Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey has a good story and cause behind it so I hope it does well.

It’s great that they donate a portion of the proceeds from each bottle sold to help a great cause.

In terms of what the bottle offers, it has quite a unique flavor profile.

You can definitely notice the difference between this and a traditional Irish Whiskey.

I think this is on purpose which is why I get a more American Single Malt vibe from this pour than an Irish Whiskey flavor profile.
