Is Crown Royal an Approachable Whisky?
Crown Royal is a very approachable whisky.
It’s very easy to drink, has a nice sweetness to it without being overbearing, and goes down smoothly.
Is Crown Royal Complex?
Crown Royal has a few layers of complexity.
Right off the bat, you get very nice sweet caramel and honey flavors. These flavors are intermingled with lightly toasted oak and vanilla.
Then the flavor twists a little bit into nice citrus and light fruit notes.
The sip finishes out with a lingering rye spice and closes out the finish with a nice oily mouthfeel.
What are Crown Royal’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Crown Royal is really easy to drink.
It’s not a surprise why this is the biggest Canadian whisky that you can find at nearly every single bar you visit.
Is Crown Royal a go-to whisky?
Crown Royal could easily be a go-to whisky if you are a fan of sweet whisky that goes down easy.
Since Crown Royal would technically be a bourbon mash bill but can’t be called a bourbon because it is not made in the United States, you will find very similar flavor characteristics as you would in most bourbons.
And at the price point, it’s a great option that most people will want to have in their bar.
Is Crown Royal priced accurately to its quality?
Crown Royal is a great whisky for its price point.
Conclusion for Crown Royal
Crown Royal is typically a whisky that I’ve seen served with Coca Cola, but it is surprisingly good on its own as well.
I’m currently sipping mine neat from a Glencairn glass and I could easily have a few more glasses of this tonight.
It goes down extremely smoothly and is a drink that I underestimated until I really sat down and evaluated this one.
