Is Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon an Approachable Whiskey?

Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon is easy enough to drink, but it does have quite a bit of spiciness to it.

While not particularly “hot” as in burning your mouth, it’s more like eating a dish full of spicy ingredients that you notice the moment they hit your mouth but then subside quickly.

Beginner whiskey drinkers will likely find this whiskey to be a bit much, but it does offer a nice level of flavor with each sip.

Is Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon Complex?

Bowman Brother Small Batch has a few layers of flavor to it.

The nose is quite nice – full of caramels, light fruits, and lovely cinnamon notes and spice.

The palate is a little less smooth.

It starts out with heavy oak, caramel, and quite a bit of light fruit notes.

Then it twists into heavy rye spice and a bit of pepper.

It then finishes out with a very tannic and dry mouthfeel that is full of oak and light fruits.

What are Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Bowman Brothers Small Batch really delivers on the oak, light fruits, and spice flavor profile.

As you sip, your mouth really gets lit up by the spices but in a way that is enjoyable not just burning your mouth.

Is Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon a go-to whiskey?

Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon is a decent whiskey.

I could see someone drinking this as a go-to whiskey, but there are plenty of other competitors in the same price range that I would go with over this bottle – Elijah Craig Small Batch and Old Forester Bourbon to name a couple.

Is Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon priced accurately to its quality?

Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon would be easier to recommend if it were a $25 bottle.

While it is a decent bottle of whiskey, the competition is just so steep in this price-tier that there are more options that I prefer.
