It starts out with heavy, rich caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak flavors from being aged for 6 years in the barrel.
It then has a layer of nice light fruits including orange zest and lemon that really shine through from the finishing in white port wine casks.
On top of that, it is non-chill filtered so it leaves you with an extremely satisfying finish that leaves your entire mouth coated with rich oils and a buttery mouthfeel that really accentuates the caramel, oak, fruits, and even a little rye spice and pepper on the finish.

The strongest attribute of Blackened x Wes Henderson is the amazing mouthfeel.
It’s quite difficult to find a whiskey with such an oily and buttery texture that packs so much flavor with each sip.
This one is a real joy to drink.

If I could find this bottle all the time and it was cheaper, it would absolutely be a go-to whiskey for me.
However, since it is a limited edition bottle, this is one that will be reserved for special occasions.

It delivers on the hefty price tag and offers a level of quality that is definitely worth the price tag.

Blackened x Wes Henderson is one of the best whiskeys I have tasted in a while.
I enjoyed the standard Blackened whiskey, but this limited edition “Masters of Whiskey” series is a real gem. If they are going to continue putting out products like this, I will be buying a lot more of the Blackened bottles.
