Is Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon an Approachable Whiskey?
Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon is an extremely approachable whiskey.
I was a huge fan of the original Bib & Tucker 6 Year Bourbon and this bottle just adds another layer of flavor and smoothness by aging the whiskey for additional time in heavily charred bourbon barrels.
Everything from the nose to the finish is smooth and exceptional with this bottle.
Is Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon Complex?
Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon has quite a few layers of flavor and complexity to it.
The nose is full of sweet caramel, toasted oak, vanilla, and hints of smoke and fruit.
Often when I get such smooth and sweet flavors on the nose, the palate doesn’t deliver the same flavors but this pour does.
On the palate, you get all the flavors you experienced on the nose but with even more layers.
All of the rich caramel and vanilla sweetness is still there along with the oak, but you get a bit more of the nuanced smoke and charred barrel notes on the palate.
In addition, you get a bit of tobacco, clove, and slightly nutty notes that round out the flavor profile to be a lot more complex than most $60 bottles of bourbon on the market.
The finish is ridiculously smooth and leaves you reaching for another sip.
What are Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon’s strongest attribute is how well-balanced and smooth each sip is.
I’ve had plenty of smooth bourbons, but Bib & Tucker Double Char offers so many layers of flavor that I would have expected to diminish the smoothness, but this pour has it all.
Is Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon a go-to whiskey?
This is the first batch of this Double Char Bourbon from Bib & Tucker.
As mentioned earlier, this edition is pretty much Bib & Tucker’s standard 6-year bourbon but with additional finishing in a heavily charred bourbon barrel.
I was a big fan of Bib & Tucker 6 Year and this bottle is even better.
This could very likely be a legit contender for my top 10 go-to whiskeys.
I hope this first batch is a success and I see more batches of this bourbon on the shelf in the near future because it is a real winner.
Is Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon priced accurately to its quality?
Bib & Tucker Double Char Bourbon delivers on its price tag.
There are plenty of $60 bottles on the shelf all the time, but this bottle stands out above most and is worth every penny.
