The 59.4% ABV will probably knock a newbie whiskey drinker’s socks off.

Is Bernheim Barrel Proof Batch A223 Complex?

Bernheim Barrel Proof is not particularly complex, but it accomplishes exactly what it’s supposed to.

Since it’s barrel-proof, it hits you with heavy oak and caramel flavors with a big, bold heavy flavor profile. While it does have additional layers of flavor, these are the heavy hitters of the pour.

What are Bernheim Barrel Proof Batch A223’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Bernheim Barrel Proof’s strongest flavors are easily caramel and oak with a big heavy finish.

Is Bernheim Barrel Proof Batch A223 a go-to whisky?

Bernheim Barrel Proof is not particularly a go-to whiskey…. unless you’re looking to get hammered on a regular basis. This bottle isn’t messing around. With each sip you take, you are blasted with all the classic barrel proof characteristics you would expect in a whiskey.

Is Bernheim Barrel Proof Batch A223 priced accurately to its quality?

For $60, I think Bernheim Barrel Proof is priced accordingly to its quality. While this isn’t a bottle I would purchase on a regular basis, I am pleased with it.

This is a bottle I will pull out on a really cool day when it’s snowing outside and I’m sitting warm by the fire.

Either that or it would be an excellent pour for a camping trip when you’re sitting by your campfire roasting marshmallows by the lake.

Conclusion for Bernheim Barrel Proof Batch A223

If you are a fan of big and bold barrel-proof whiskeys, this bottle is a solid choice if you find it on the shelf.
