Is Baker’s 7 Year an Approachable Whiskey?

Baker’s 7 Year packs quite a punch. Since it is a single barrel non-chill filtered whiskey at 107 proof, you will feel a nice heat with each sip.

This is a whiskey for experienced whiskey drinkers, not a beginner.

Is Baker’s 7 Year Complex?

Baker’s 7 Year has quite a few layers of complexity.

It starts with a lovely nose of caramel, brown sugar, toasted oak, dark fruits, and a bit of cinnamon, clove, and baking spices.

Then right away on the first sip you get hit with a big and bold expression of those same flavors – heavy caramel and rich charred oak.

But then it takes a nice turn and finished out with a pepper and rye spice finish that leaves you with a nice buttery mouthfeel that lasts for 30-60 seconds.

Is Baker’s 7 Year a go-to whiskey?

If you can afford the $65 price tag as your go-to whiskey, this could easily be a daily sipper. It packs so many nice flavors into each sip and the finish really leaves you wanting more.

Is Baker’s 7 Year priced accurately to its quality?

Baker’s 7 Year easily delivers on its price tag. It got all the quintessential bourbon flavors you could want along with a wonderful finish.

Conclusion for Baker’s 7 Year – Single Barrel

If you see this bottle on the shelf, definitely pick it up. It’s one of the best bourbons I’ve had and at the $65 price tag, it is a bottle I will always buy when I see it so I can have a backup on my shelf.
