Amrut Intermediate Sherry Review - Indian Single Malt Whisky - Secret Whiskey Society - Label Bottle Description

Is Amrut Intermediate Sherry an Approachable Whisky?

Amrut Intermediate Sherry reminds me of a luxurious dessert.

It’s packed full of rich dark fruits and heavy baking spices but still has the caramel, oak, and vanilla you’d find from an American Bourbon cask.

This pour reminds me of eating a piece of rich Black Velvet Cake with blackberry jelly between each of its layers.

It’s truly a decadent dessert whisky that I think everyone would enjoy.

Is Amrut Intermediate Sherry Complex?

Amrut Intermediate Sherry has many layers of flavor.

At its base layer, you have your normal single malt flavors that are grain-forward similar to a Scotch Whiskey with a tiny bit of smoke.

But layered on top of that single malt flavor profile is the caramel, vanilla, and oak from the ex-Bourbon casks and even more so is the heavy influence of the Oloroso Sherry Butts.

The amount of dark fruits, cherry, blackberry, and chocolate-covered raisin flavors I get here make this one of the most delicious whiskeys you could serve as a dessert after a delicious meal.

What are Amrut Intermediate Sherry’s strongest attributes/flavors?

The dark fruits. Amrut Intermediate Sherry has captured some of the strongest dark fruit flavors I’ve ever tasted in a whisky.

It’s truly delicious.

Is Amrut Intermediate Sherry a go-to whisky?

If I could find Amrut Intermediate Sherry more easily in my area, this would absolutely be a whisky that I would share with friends during dinner parties and game nights.

Is Amrut Intermediate Sherry priced accurately to its quality?

Amrut Intermediate Sherry is a bit on the pricy side, but I do think it delivers on its price tag.

It’s not a whisky you will be drinking every day, but it is one that I like to have around for when I have guests that prefer red wines over whisky so that I can introduce them to a dessert whisky and hopefully convert them over to our side.

Another excellent option from Amrut is the Amrut Cask Strength Single Malt.

Conclusion for Amrut Intermediate Sherry

Amrut Intermediate Sherry is absolutely delicious.

It’s easy to drink, has little to no heat on it, and packs so much flavor into each sip that you will feel like you’re enjoying a dessert with each sip.
