Is Gentleman Jack Approachable?

This is a very easy whiskey to drink. It’s a step up from the standard Jack Daniel’s No. 7 and the double mellowing adds a nice toasted flavor to Gentleman Jack.

Is Gentleman Jack Complex?

Gentleman Jack is certainly more complex than Jack Daniel’s No. 7. It has a bit more character with the toasted barrel flavors and the double-mellowed charcoal notes. So while it does have a little complexity, it still leaves a lot to be desired for an experienced whiskey drinker who is looking for more layers to their whiskey.

What are Gentleman Jack’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Since Gentleman Jack is double charcoal mellowed, this means that the clear un-aged whiskey is sifted through a charcoal vat. This process can take up to 3-5 days to complete and is the reason Jack Daniel’s is a Tennessee whiskey and not considered a bourbon.

This extra layer of flavor not only allows it to be in its own “category” of whiskey, but it certainly adds a unique flavor to Gentleman Jack.

When you take a sip of Gentleman Jack, you will most likely experience the first sensation to be sweet caramel flavors followed up by an earthy charcoal-toasted flavor that brings a pleasant finish to each sip.

Is Gentleman Jack a go-to whiskey?

Gentleman Jack could definitely be a go-to whiskey. It’s smooth, sweet, and has a few layers to its flavor. It is easy to drink with very little burn which makes it an easy one to pour another glass of.

Is Gentleman Jack priced accurately to its quality?

Gentleman Jack cost $35 and I do think it’s worth the extra $10 over the traditional Jack Daniel’s No. 7. If you’re looking for a decent whiskey to drink neat or on the rocks, the price for Gentleman Jack is a good value.

Overall Conclusions on Jack Daniel’s Gentleman Jack Whiskey

Jack Daniel’s steps it up with Gentleman Jack. If you’re a fan of Jack Daniel’s and you are looking to make the jump from drinking Jack and Cokes to sipping whiskey on the rocks or neat, this is a good place to start. While there are definitely better whiskey’s out there at a similar price point, you can’t go wrong with Gentleman Jack.

I hope you enjoyed this tasting experience with me.
