Powers Irish Whiskey (and in particular, the gold label) was the first Irish Whiskey to ever be bottled back in 1791 and is historically the best-selling whiskey in Ireland.

Appearance: Golden Honey
Nose: Crisp apple, cinnamon spice, light fruit, candied apricot, pear, brown sugar, toasted oak, vanilla, cherry candies, malt grain
Palate: Sweet honey and caramel, toasted oak, vanilla, crisp green apple, candied apricot, red cherry, raspberry, oaky tannic spice
Finish: Lovely long finish with a nice oily and buttery mouthfeel – leaves you with flavors of oak, caramel, and fruit with a long lingering oaky tannic spice
Is Powers Irish Whiskey – Gold Label an Approachable Whiskey?
Powers Gold Label is quite delicious.
It has a tiny bit of spice on the finish which may feel a bit “hot” to beginner whiskey drinkers, but it is quite enjoyable for me and the heat is backed up by tons of complex flavors.
Is Powers Irish Whiskey – Gold Label Complex?
Powers Gold Label is full of complex flavors.
The nose is full of crisp apples and other light fruits, nice levels of oak and spice, caramel sweetness, vanilla, and malt grain.
On the palate, you get much of the same.
This is one of the more complex Irish Whiskeys I have ever tasted and I’m really enjoying each sip.
What are Powers Irish Whiskey – Gold Label’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Powers Gold Label’s strongest attribute is that it packs so many layers of flavors into such an affordable bottle.
Every sip you take, you will pull out another flavor note that you hadn’t noticed before.

Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey is definitely a go-to whiskey.
I purchased this bottle because I saw a few others mention how good it was and they weren’t lying.
It is really quite excellent.

Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey delivers above and beyond its price tag.
This is a bottle I would expect to cost $50-60 for the amount of flavor packed into it.

Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey is quite impressive.
I didn’t know what to expect coming into this bottle, but I am more than satisfied with the purchase.
I’m a fan of non-chill filtered whiskey and the finish on this bottle is really quite delightful and unexpected from a 43.2% ABV whiskey.
If you see a bottle of Powers Gold Label on the shelf, I highly recommend picking this one up.
