The nose is a bit deceiving. It lures you in with scents of sweet brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and fruit with a bit of smoke.
Then when this whisky hits your palate, you are blasted with insanely huge flavors of smoke, peat, and charred oak.
As the initial flavors subside, you’ll start to get some dark fruits, sweeter brown sugar and caramel notes, vanilla, and some cinnamon spice and pepper.

Conclusion for Lagavulin 9 Year Game of Thrones Edition
Lagavulin is a solid Scotch whisky in general if you enjoy smokey, peaty Scotches.
This was a really cool limited edition bottle that coincided with one of the most popular television shows in history and it was a nice touch to see the two partner up and create a limited edition bottle that really doubled down on its flavor profile.
I don’t know how hard these bottles will be to find in today’s market, but if you’re a fan of smoke and see a chance to get a pour of this one, I recommend you do it.
