Is Blood Oath Pact 8 an Approachable Whiskey?
Blood Oath Pact 8 is very difficult to get and can mostly just be found on the secondary market at this point.
In terms of flavor, it drinks pretty smoothly and the nice sweetness and fruit notes are flavors that anyone can enjoy.
Is Blood Oath Pact 8 Complex?
Blood Oath Pact 8 has a few layers of flavor to it.
It starts with your typical rye whiskey flavors of caramel, spice, oak, and vanilla, but the Calvados cask finishing does really shine through giving this pour a nice fruit and apple sweetness.
What are Blood Oath Pact 8’s strongest attributes/flavors?
Blood Oath Pact 8’s strongest attribute is the amount of fruit flavor that shines through paired with the rye spices and pepper on the finish.
Is Blood Oath Pact 8 a go-to whiskey?
Blood Oath Pact 8 is rare and hard to find so this is one to be reserved for special occasions.
I was lucky enough to have my friend Jeremy let me try his bottle of Blood Oath Pact 8 for the first time and it was quite enjoyable.
I managed to get myself a bottle a little later and is one that I will wait to pour with good friends one night.
Is Blood Oath Pact 8 priced accurately to its quality?
Blood Oath Pact 8 is a little high-priced.
At the $120 price point, it is the rarity and nice packaging that makes this bottle sell for that price tag.
However, it is a very cool box and bottle and that is part of the hype that is the Blood Oath lineup.
Every year, we wait for the next release and try to hunt down a bottle to see what Lux Row Distillers came up with next.
Conclusion for Blood Oath Pact 8
While I did enjoy Blood Oath Pact 8, I wish it were easier to find and at the $60 price point.
With that being said, I do think that the Blood Oath Pact 9 delivers a much better level of quality that delivers closer to the $120 price point.
It’s still pretty pricey, but I do prefer it a lot more than the Pact 8 and you might actually still be able to find it on the shelves.
Either way, the Blood Oath bottles are ones that I will almost always purchase if I have the opportunity to find them.
They’re fun to get each year and the surprise of not knowing what flavor profile and blend you’ll get is half the fun with these.
If you have a chance to get yourself a bottle, I’d recommend picking them up.
