Is Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey an Approachable Whiskey?

Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey has a bit of a funk to it.

It has a nice sweetness and pleasant light fruits notes, especially pear and green apples, but something is throwing my taste buds for a loop on this one.

Is Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey Complex?

Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey is pretty straightforward.

It has a nice honey sweetness and very nice fruit notes.

After those flavors, I start to get an earthy, rubbery note on the finish that I’m not particularly a fan of.

Is Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey a go-to whiskey?

Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey may be a good bottle to use in cocktails, but it isn’t a whiskey I could see myself sipping on regularly.

Is Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey priced accurately to its quality?

If Proper Twelve costs $20-$25 per bottle, I would feel more comfortable recommending this one.

At the $35 price point, it just doesn’t live up to any of its competition.

Conclusion for Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey

If you’re looking for a low-cost Irish Whiskey, I would recommend getting a bottle of Tullamore Dew for $20 and making one of my favorite whiskey cocktails – The Irish Coffee Recipe With Tullamore Dew.
