Yellowstone American Single Malt Tasting Notes

Nose: Malt, cereal grain, cinnamon toast crunch, vanilla, cocoa powder, nutty, earthy, grass, and hay. I even get a bit of the cereal “Cookie Crisp” which would be a cereal grain with a bit of chocolate to it.

Palate: Honey, cereal grain, malt followed by some light fruits and citrus.

Finish: Long finish with a bit of heat and pepper spice

Is Yellowstone Single Malt an Approachable Whiskey?

Yellowstone Single Malt is an interesting whiskey.

It’s got a whole ton of malt and cereal grain flavors to it, but also an interesting nutty, earthy, and grassy/plant flavor profile.

This one takes a little getting used to since most of us aren’t really used to the American Single Malt mash bill flavors.

Is Yellowstone Single Malt Complex?

Yellowstone Single Malt has a few layers of flavor, but they aren’t all that complex.

You get a lot of malt and cereal grain flavors right away and then it follows up with some nutty walnut flavors, light fruits, and citrus with a lingering earthy, grassy, pepper spice finish

What are Yellowstone Single Malt’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Yellowstone Single Malt’s strongest attribute would be how malt and cereal grain forward it is. It really delivers on its Single Malt mash bill and gives you exactly what you should expect.

Is Yellowstone Single Malt a go-to whiskey?

Yellowstone Single Malt is easy enough to drink and could be a go-to whiskey if you’re a fan of malt whiskey.

I personally would go for a pour of Yellowstone Bourbon over this because I’m a fan of the caramel and rye spice flavors in their high-rye bourbon.

Is Yellowstone Single Malt priced accurately to its quality?

Yellowstone is priced a bit high for me to buy another bottle. I think this bottle should be priced around the $40 range and it would be a little more accurate.

Conclusion for Yellowstone Single Malt

Yellowstone Single Malt is an easy whiskey to drink.

You’ll really find yourself diving into the flavors you’ll find in this one.

It’s hard to pinpoint a lot of the flavors you’ll find, but one thing is for sure, you will most definitely know this is a single malt whiskey.
