Highland Park Magnus is very approachable. It has lovely honey and light fruit flavors that blend very well with the smokey, earthy notes so it isn’t overpowering in any aspect.
This would be a great Scotch to share with beginners who are experimenting in the smokey Scotch arena.

It offers a nice blend of sweet honey and oak paired with light fruits and citrus that are rounded out by smoke and light pepper on the finish.

Conclusion for Highland Park Magnus
Highland Park Magnus is an excellent buy at its price point. There aren’t many $40-45 bottles of whisky that I would choose over this one.
With that being said, some people may think this bottle is a little light and a bit diluted compared to some other top smokey Scotch brands like Laphroaig and Ardbeg.
Even still, those bottles are $60+ and are in a bit of a different category since I would consider them a bit more “heavy smoke/peat” focused.
Regardless, if you have never tried Highland Park Magnus, I definitely recommend picking up a bottle if you see it on the shelf.
