Is Bib & Tucker – 6 Year an Approachable Whiskey?

Big & Tucker is a bit on the bold side. While it is only 46% ABV, it is non-chill filtered which leaves you with a bit of heat and an oily mouthfeel that coats the entire inside of your mouth.

An experienced whiskey drinker will likely appreciate this, but a beginner may be overwhelmed with this one.

Is Bib & Tucker – 6 Year Complex?

Bib & Tucker has a few layers of flavor to it.

It has your standard caramel and toasted oak flavors, but it also has a bit of an earthy, metallic, and leathery profile to it.

It finishes out with a bit of rye spice and leaves you with a sweetness and a nice mouthfeel.

What are Bib & Tucker – 6 Year’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Bib & Tucker offers a nice balance between your standard bourbon flavors and an earthy, coppery, leather profile that may sound off-putting but is quite a nice balance.

It may be a bit of an acquired taste, but the balance of flavors is one that I really enjoy.

It almost reminds me of smoking tobacco from a pipe.

Is Bib & Tucker – 6 Year a go-to whiskey?

Bib & Tucker is a whiskey that I would pull out on special occasions when I’m in the mood for a comforting, earthy whiskey pour.

Each sip leaves me with an oily mouthfeel and invites another taste.

Is Bib & Tucker – 6 Year priced accurately to its quality?

I do think Bib & Tucker 6 Year is priced accurately to its quality.

Even though it is a sourced whiskey at a $55 price point (possibly from Dickel), it delivers on its flavors.

Conclusion for Bib & Tucker – 6 Year

Bib & Tucker – Aged 6 Years is a whiskey that I really enjoy.

The first time I had it was at a whiskey festival where I took my dad so he could start learning about whiskey.

While the Scotches were some of our favorites of the entire night, Bib & Tucker was one of my dad’s favorites and it was a whiskey that really left a lasting impact.

My dad is a big fan of wine and Bib & Tucker was one of the whiskeys he tasted that gave him the oily mouthfeel and “chewy” sensation we often enjoy in our favorite wines.

It’s no surprise that the earthy, leathery, and tobacco bourbon with an oily mouthfeel would be one of our favorites because those are similar qualities that we both always enjoy in our wines.

Overall, Bib & Tucker is an excellent bourbon that I highly recommend everyone try for themselves.

It packs a nice level of heat that delivers a classic “Kentucky Hug” as it goes down.
