Is Old Tub an Approachable Whiskey?

Old Tub is an extremely approachable whiskey. I thought for the $20 price point it would have a bit of heat on it being Bottled-in-Bond but it drinks quite smoothly.

It has a very distinct peanut note to it that I rather enjoy.

Is Old Tub Complex?

Old Tub isn’t particularly complex, but for only $20 it offers more than I expected.

I get very strong peanut notes and it reminds me of creamy peanut butter or peanut brittle. I like the flavors I get and while it does have a bit of spice on the finish that conflicts a bit with the rest of the flavor profile, it is still quite enjoyable.

What are Old Tub’s strongest attributes/flavors?

Old Tub’s strongest attribute is definitely its price point. At only $20, you get a bottle that is quite enjoyable and offers a unique combination of flavors.

Is Old Tub a go-to whiskey?

If you’re looking for whiskey on a budget, Old Tub could easily be a daily sipper. It’s cheap, it tastes good, and it goes down smoothly.

Is Old Tub priced accurately to its quality?

Old Tub delivers a little above its price tag I think. It’s one of the more enjoyable whiskeys I’ve had at the $20 range.

Conclusion for Old Tub

Old Tub was a pleasant surprise. It’s not going to blow your socks off, but for the price, it is a great value. It has a unique flavor profile that I enjoy and I really liked the creamy peanut notes.
